Empowerment, Movement
The movement or ‘challenge’ encourages positivity, sisterhood and female solidarity. Celebrities such as Kerry Washington, Jennifer Garner, Jennifer Aniston, Naomi Watts, Nicole Kidman and Rebel Wilson have already taken part, posting black and white photos and encouraging their friends to do the same - #challengeaccepted.
Nominated by friend Vanessa Bryant, Kerry Washington’s black and white image was accompanied by the message “I am awed by the power of women loving each other and lifting each other up!!!...”. She in turn challenged Nicole Kidman who also shared the love and support of her female community, posting “I’ve been nurtured, loved, mentored and guided by so many generous, warm and intelligent women. May I continue to offer you all that I can through my art and my life 💕 #WomenSupportingWomen”
Jennifer Aniston thanked all the beautiful and brilliant women in her life but also used the movement to encourage women to register to vote in order to support the issues affecting women. “The best way we can support other women is to REGISTER TO VOTE for the issues that affect women. Encourage all your friends, girlfriends, sisters, moms, daughters to do the same..”, she shared.
