Introducing our Mothering On My Own partnership

Posted on May 03, 2024

Triumph are really proud to support Rachel and Jess, from Mothering On My Own, a podcast and community to support women through the journey of single motherhood. We first came across the podcast when they interviewed our model, Pala, and when their introduction mentioned 'women who triumph', we knew it was fate.

We chatted to Rachel and Jess about how we can support the single Mums in our lives, especially in the lead up to Mother's Day.

What made you want to start this community?

"Jess and I felt like we wanted to start this community as we both felt like it was something that was missing in our own personal lives. For many of us, we feel so isolated and alone in the journey of single motherhood.  We often get messages from women who feel so grateful for this podcast as it makes them feel less alone, it makes them feel like they can navigate the challenges that are unique to single motherhood and better yet come through it even stronger and happier than they ever could have imagined."

What does the partnership with Triumph mean to you?

"Something that we talk about often on our podcast (and even mention it in our introduction) is about being able to celebrate the Triumphs. As a brand, they are focused on celebrating all women, no matter your circumstances or differences. Oftentimes after a separation we lose ourselves, lose sight of who we are and what we want, we might lose confidence and it becomes a journey of coming back to loving ourselves and we think Triumph is a brand that encompasses what it means to honor ourselves."

Where do you hope to take Mothering On My Own?

"We see so much for Mothering On My Own- becoming more than a podcast, a space for all single mums to connect, learn, grow and feel seen in their experience. We also want to change the conversation and give the greater communities around us a deeper understanding into single motherhood to create change in this space."

What has been your favourite moment in business together?

"I think even just starting it and growing with it, we were pretty naive when we started as to how much work it was going to take. We are both very busy solo mums who have had no idea what we are doing but we both have just kept leaning into the work and evolving with it as we go- the community and the messages keep fuelling us and we know we are helping women every day."

What is your favourite Triumph style?

Rach:

"Considering I went a good few years breastfeeding with no bra/daggy bras I am loving every moment of my sexy lacy ones, no one is going to see them but I feel sexy and I love it!"

Jess:

"I'm loving the Signature Sheer range, it's where comfortability meets style. They're easily worn underneath a t-shirt with no visible lines or popping out of a blazer to give a bit of sheer detailing. The perfect all rounder bra!"

What is your biggest triumph as a single mum?

Rach: Everyday, honestly everyday, when I look at my son and see how content and happy he is, how loved and supported he is. Amongst all of the challenges over the years as a solo mum, I have never given up and always believed that bit by bit it would get easier and my time would come that I could grow my own dreams- I feel like it is getting closer and closer and this podcast truly felt like the first step.

Jess: Similarly to Rach in that providing on your own for your child/children will be the greatest challenge I think I will ever do. But reflecting upon the last 3 years I have been able to create a life for Seb and I that I'm truly proud of. The days and weeks can seem long and challenging but as a whole I feel triumphant in the place we are at and continue to move towards.
